I promised that we would post more videos of the stupid criminals who apparently cannot read the surveillance camera signs throughout our parking lots, or the lettering on the door, announcing our Platinum CCTV Naperville SECURITY CAMERA showroom.
Well here is one from earlier this month. Early in the morning, just after 1 AM on 7-15-08, I noticed some lights in the parking lot while watching the cameras remotely. So as I normally would, I zoomed in with the PTZ Camera to get a better view. The car pulled into our parking lot, circled the building, then parked with his lights shining at a van that was parked in the front of the showroom.
After trying to gain access through the driver’s door, the alleged car thief ends up circling around and gaining access through the passenger door instead. (later we found out he had to tamper with the hinges to get in). Once he gained access, he pops the driver’s door open and circles back around to the driver’s side of the van. Quickly rifling through center consoles, door consoles, and eventually gets in and drives the van away. Followed quickly by the truck he drove in with.
Naperville police responded quickly, but he was already out of the parking lot. But armed with the license plates, they were easily able to catch up with him.
