Man in Wheelchair burglarized in McDonalds on security cameras

August 19, 2008 · Leave a Comment

An 83 year old man in a motorized wheelchair had almost $2000.00 stolen from the bag of his motorized wheelchair yesterday in a McDonalds at Irving Park and Central in Chicago.  Witnesses saw a well-dressed man reach into the bag of the older man’s wheelchair and pull out a long, fat white envelope that contained the man’s money.  They quickly retreated to the parking lot and sped away in a late model vehicle say witnesses who were eating in the restaurant at the same time.

Luckily, between the descriptions of the men and the video surveillance footage that the police are reviewing from the security cameras in the McDonalds and in the parking lots, they hope to be able to identify the men quickly, so that the robbed gentlemen can hopefully recoup his stolen funds.

As business owners, we never know what will happen in our facility.  Burglary against the business is not the only crime that may occur.  If someone steals from your customers in your facility, it can certainly give bad press to your business.  Security cameras that are well placed and recording constantly in our business can help to provide evidence when a heinous crime like this occurs.
