Chicago Home Security Camera System provides evidence of burglars

Home Security Cameras capture attempted burglary or Home invasion

Home Security Cameras capture attempted burglary or Home invasion

Watching Fox News Last night “on the 10″ and they have a special on a chicago suburban man who installed (in their words) Thousands of Dollars of security cameras around his home (7 to be exact) after a break-in that had occured at his home several months ago.  Watch the video here.

Well yesterday, while his family was still home, several individuals tried several times to break into his home, even using masks when they realized that someone was there in the home!  Chicago Police have received a copy of the video and are searching for these attempted burglars now.

It was great to see home security cameras portrayed in a slightly better light than some, but I still found it funny that the reporter asks Tony, “so what is so important in your home that these burglars would want to steal?”  Tony Lamon just kind of cocks his head to the side and looks at her, and replies “my family” – Not that burglars would want to steal his family, but the truth is, we dont know exactly why the burglars might pick our house instead of the one next door…but we do know what is important to us, it is our family.  We want to protect our family.

And even though the perception is that a camera system for the home has to cost thousands of dollars, the reality of the matter is that a good camera system can be purchased for much less than that, and can help you start protecting your family.  Lets start protecting what is important to us, much like this homeowner did.

Arecont Vision H.264 MegaDome Armor Dome IP Cameras

Arecont Vision H.264 MegaDome Armor Dome IP Cameras

Today we received our first shipment of the Arecont Vision MegaDome® H.264 compression MegaPixel IP Armor Dome cameras.  These cameras are a brand new offering by Arecont Vision which allows home or business owners to get into the High Definition IP cameras without having to purchase a lens or housing seperately.  These great 4″ dome housings can be mounted on the ceiling or on the wall and have an easily adjusted 3-axis gimble which allows you to orient the lens properly so that the picture is always facing upwards.

Before now, the Arecont Vision MegaPixel IP cameras had to be mounted in a large unwieldly outdoor enclosure, which made them impractical for home or small business installations.  However, with the introduction of our new MegaDome® line of Arecont Vision MegaPixel IP Cameras, these home or small business owners can now enjoy high definition (1.3 MegaPixel (1280×1024) up to 5.0 MegaPixel (2592×1966)) video quality without having to install a larger camera housing.

Not only are the housings improved on these new MegaPixel IP cameras, but also these new cameras use the H.264 compression codec for improved video transfer over the network and reduced file sizes.  Now you can get longer recording times on your NVR with the H.264 video format.  Make sure your NVR software supports the H.264 Arecont Vision cameras.  Our Alnet Systems Netstation NVR Software fully supports all of the Arecont Vision MJPEG and H.264 camera models.  The Alnet Systems NVR Netstation software will even allow for Remote viewing from a PDA phone running windows mobile AND NOW BLACKBERRY PDAs running Blackberry OS version 4.6 and above!
